Privacy Policy

Weathersight LLC ("Weathersight", "we") operates weathersight.io, its APIs, and its MCP connector. This policy describes what we collect, why, and who processes it. Questions: contact us.

Account information

Your email address, collected when you create an account, request an API token, or connect the MCP connector. It is the key that links your API token, your subscription, and your content preferences. We do not collect names, postal addresses, or phone numbers.

Our internal operational alerts — the notifications our staff receive about events such as a token being created — identify you by a one-way hash of your address rather than the address itself.

API tokens

A random token issued to you for API and connector access. It is stored so we can authenticate your requests and show it to you on your subscription page.

Usage data

Server logs of API and website requests: which endpoint was called, the parameters supplied (locations, dates, metrics), response status, timing, and IP address. We use these to operate the service, diagnose faults, enforce rate limits, and detect abuse.

Preferences

If you subscribe to email content, the regions, metrics, and frequency you chose.

Payment details

None. We do not collect or store card details. Trials require no payment information.

We use the following processors. Each receives only what its function requires.

• PropelAuth — account sign-in. Holds your email address and login credentials; we never see your password.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases, file storage, and email delivery (Amazon SES). Data is stored in the United States.
• Anthropic — powers our AI features (article augmentation and the investigative assistant). When you use those features, the text of your query or article is sent to Anthropic for processing. Other parts of the site do not send anything to Anthropic.
• Cloudflare — content delivery and bot protection (Turnstile). Sees request metadata including your IP address.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads — website traffic measurement. These set their own cookies; see Cookies below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.

• ws_clear — set after you pass a bot check, so you are not challenged repeatedly. Expires after 30 minutes. Strictly functional.
• PropelAuth session cookies — keep you signed in.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies — traffic measurement and advertising attribution. You can block these with your browser or an ad blocker without affecting the rest of the site.

When you connect Weathersight to Claude or another MCP client, you sign in and approve access on our consent screen. We then issue that client an API token tied to your email address. If you did not already have a token, one is created for you at that point.

The connector is read-only: every tool it exposes queries weather and climate data. None can modify or delete anything in your account.

The queries your client sends us (locations, dates, metrics) are logged as usage data above. We do not receive your conversation with the AI assistant — only the specific tool calls it makes to our API.

To disconnect, remove the connector in your client and rotate or remove your token on your subscription page.

• See your data — your token, plan, and preferences are on your subscription page.
• Revoke API access — rotate or remove your token from the token page. Removal takes effect immediately.
• Stop emails — turn off email delivery in your subscription preferences.
• Delete your account — contact us and we will delete your account record, tokens, and preferences.

We keep your account record, token, and preferences for as long as your account is active, and delete them on request. Server logs are retained for a limited period for operational and security purposes, then discarded.

Weathersight is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be notified by email to subscribers.
